The Illinois Pork Producers Association, in partnership with the Purebred Swine Council, proudly sponsors the Ryan & Friends Scholarship each year. This scholarship recognizes multiple recipients, with awards totaling up to $2,000 each. The number of scholarships and the total value may vary annually.

Established in 1998, the scholarship honors the memory of Ryan Range, a passionate youth swine showman who actively participated in 4-H, FFA and junior livestock shows. In addition, it celebrates the memory of several young individuals who tragically passed away before their time. The scholarship funds are awarded in their honor.

To be eligible, applicants must be undergraduate students at a university, college, or community college for the upcoming fall semester, residents of Illinois, and members of 4-H or FFA.

Applicants for the Ryan & Friends Scholarship must complete an application form (link below) and submit a typed essay detailing their reasons for pursuing a career in an agriculture-related field. They must also provide transcripts, a list of achievements and activities, and a statement of financial need. The accompanying essay should be between 200 - 500 words.

Top applicants will be selected for an interview by the Ryan & Friends Scholarship Committee.
